I write the words that make your customers light up like a cat looking at a Christmas tree.
✳︎ WHAT I DO
My work runs the gamut from big picture to nitty gritty. Big picture like voice and tone, messaging, editorial calendars, and manifestos. Nitty gritty like the social ad that convinces customers to click "Add to Cart," the email that gets them excited for your next drop, the billboard they see on their commute, and the packaging copy so good, they take a picture to text a friend.
✳︎ HOW I WORK
I think in systems, not just brand moments. I believe that breakthrough ideas happen when the creative team is having fun, and the strongest work comes from copy and design partners creating together, not in sequence.
✳︎ WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR
I’ve built a freelance practice working at a strategic and conceptual level within IC positions (without a formal remit to do more), and am now seeking roles that offer the budget, scope, and team needed to do work that rises to the level of culture, not just commerce.
✳︎ HOW I GOT HERE
Born and raised in the DC suburbs, I lived in Brussels and Doha before landing in Seattle. Got my start in generalist PR, marketing, and communications roles, then found copywriting, a job so fun it still feels a little unfair.
Outside of work, I’m a distance runner (six marathons and counting), an avid cook and reader, and I host an interview series called Most Likely to Succeed.
It’s awkward to toot your own horn, so I’ll let my colleague Vicky do it for me.
“Working with Erin over nearly three years at Yohana/PanasonicWELL was one of the most rewarding creative partnerships I’ve had. We built brands from scratch and evolved existing ones, adapting swiftly to shifting business goals while driving growth and engagement. Erin is a one-of-a-kind copywriter, equal parts strategic thinker and creative craftsperson. She’s deeply skilled in storytelling, brand voice and messaging, with a sharp grasp of growth marketing. She knows how to flex across channels, audiences and funnel stages. From internal comms to brand campaigns, her work was always distinctive, cohesive and results-driven.
“She’s also a true collaborator; positive, thoughtful, open to feedback and never short on ideas. She has a keen creative instinct, always thinking about how language performs, not just how it sounds. She can shift tone from smart to silly without ever losing the brand’s thread. (Ask her about the holiday ad she wrote that hit a 65% thumb-stopping rate.) Her conceptual mindset ensures ideas are developed holistically, blending words and visuals seamlessly. She champions the belief that the best work happens when copy and design work hand in hand from the very start. Any team would be lucky to have her!”
